Hey Fighters!
When you feel like you don't have enough of something, the natural instinct is to hold on tighter. But what if the secret to abundance lies in giving it away?
We see this principle perfectly illustrated in the boxing ring. Many fighters hesitate, boxing with a fear of being hit. Yet, their opponent is only truly open when they are throwing a punch. I tell my fighters: Don't fight not to get hit—invite the punch.
When you move from a mentality of avoidance to one of acceptance, everything changes. Your body moves differently. Your confidence soars. Your reactions become sharper. You trust your training, invite the danger, and often surprise yourself with how well you react and land your own strike.
This is a powerful metaphor for life. Recently, a client shared advice her mother gave her: If you feel you lack something, give it away, and you will find what you lack shows up in abundance.
• Don't have enough time? Volunteer, or agree to meet that friend for coffee.
• Don't have enough money? Donate a small amount.
• Don't have enough food? Share what you have.
Just like the universe seems to provide for those who give, the more you hesitate to constantly protect yourself, the less effectively you'll react. But when you trust your strength and invite the opportunity, you open yourself up to receiving.
This Thanksgiving, we ask: What is something you feel you don't have enough of that you can give away?
